​Earthing & Its Benefits

Earthing is a wonderful practice that can help keep your health in balance and promote grounding.  It’s the practice of coupling your body to the Earth’s surface energy by .....

​walking, sitting or sleeping outside in direct contact with the Earth or using a device that creates the same response while outdoors.  When in direct contact with the Earth, your body becomes suffused with negative charged free electrons and equalizes to the same electric energy level as the earth.  

The theory is that our bodies are meant to come into contact with the Earth (a “grounding” force) on a regular basis. Positive electrons in the form of free radicals build up in our bodies and direct contact with the ground balances this out as it is a negative grounding charge.  Our bodies and cells have electrical energy, and especially with the high prevalence of Electromagnetic waves, Wi-Fi and mobile phone waves, many of us have a high amount of positive electrons built up in our bodies.

When you think about it, our ancestors followed this practice often as they spent more time outdoors, regularly barefoot, with feet in the earth while they were gardening, tilling the soil and so forth.  Times have changed and now we wear rubber shoes, live indoors and have regular exposure to EMG’s. 

Since the earth provides a tremendous amount of healing energy, this practice helps promote personal healing on many levels and can easily be applied in today’s world.  Here are just some ways Earthing can be beneficial:
  • Reduces inflammation by defusing excess positive electrons
  • Reduces chronic pain
  • Improves Sleep
  • Increases Energy
  • Lowers stress and promotes calmness by reducing stress hormones.
  • Normalizes biological rhythms including circadian rhythm
  • Improves blood pressure and blood flow
  • Relieves muscle tension and headache
  • Lessens menstrual and female hormone symptoms
  • Speeds up the healing process
  • Can eliminate jet lag
  • Protects the body from EMFs
  • Shortens recovery time from injury or athletic activity
  • Reduces or eliminates snoring
  • Helps support adrenal health

Here ae some of the best ways to get your Earthing experience.
  • Walk outside barefoot.  It’s the easiest and cheapest way.  You must be barefoot and in contact with rock, dirt or water. The beach/ocean is possibly the best place as not only are sand and salt water extremely conductive, but salt water is also very high in magnesium.   Have you ever noticed that you sleep better on a beach vacation after walking in the sand or being in the ocean? The sand and ocean water and both naturally conductive materials and both help ground the body and remove excess positive electrons. For the same basic reason that we ground electrical outlets to avoid the build-up of excess positive charge, our bodies need the same ground effect.
  • Sleep outside and enjoy a camping trip.  Have you observed how relaxed, reinvigorated and grounded you feel after a camping trip?
  • Buy earthing mat or sheets; use when you’re on the computer, sleeping or traveling.

Earthing benefits everyone, from children to adults to animals.  The next time you feel tired or can’t shake a headache, try some earthing and see if it does the trick.  The more you add this practice to your self-care routine, the greater the benefits. 

I want to make a special outreach to those sensitive people out there.  To all my empath and sensitive friends, regular earthing is a must do for your self-care as we are incredibly sensitive to the energies of people and everything around us.  It’s a great way to energetically “cleanse” yourself and ensure that your personal self-care is a priority.  Try adding this to your self-care routine slowly and watch the magical benefits unfold.
