On December 11 @ 2:29am (PT/San Diego, CA) we’ll experience the final New Moon for 2015. This is in exciting event for many reasons! First, it’s the final full moon of 2015, a year in which we have been challenged to let go of old identities, personas and roles and step into the truth of who we are. I’ll expand more on this in a bit. Next it.... falls on the 11th day of the month, and in numerology, 11 is a master day. This is a very powerful number as 11 symbolizes new beginnings. Finally, the new moon falls in Sagittarius which means the focus and theme will be on seeking the truth. The symbol for Sagittarius is the archer, so imagine as an archer would, aiming your arrow at a target, and in this case that target is all about the TRUTH. Watch for themes in the area of truth, expansion, abundance and removing limitations and restrictions. If your Sun, Rising or Moon signs are in Sagittarius or you have other natal planets here, you are likely to be more impacted by this one. My Rising sign is Sagittarius and I’ve been feeling the energies of this new moon intensely for the past week! No need to worry though since, as with everything, it’s as positive as you choose to make it.
2015 has been a very challenging year, a time where many of us have experienced growth and much of it has not been welcomed. An important stage of the growth cycle includes letting go of the old to create space for the new, which we have seen lots of this year. This means letting go of things that no longer fit into our truth self, including people, relationships, jobs, etc. A great visual is to imagine that you’ve decided to pick up and start a new life 3,000 miles away from home. When you pack for your relocation, you have to decide what you can take with you and also know that not everything can go with you on your new journey. You need to leave some room in your new life to be able to receive the new things that will fill this newly created open space. Also, think back to what was shifting and changing in March of this year, as this is when this cycle began. December has resurfaced lots of old paradigms and programs from our past and it’s up to us to view this now using our new lense, which hopefully includes a wiser version of self. This is challenging for everyone as the ego wants to cling to what it knows, what it perceives as comfortable and stable, and when your mind is experiencing this it’s being led by fear vs. love. However, everything does change and in order for you to experience authentic growth and personal transformation, it’s important to accept this natural process of life and trust in the unknown. For those that are not yet awakened, this process will be extra painful and in the end, you will likely be forced to make some changes if you’re not present to what is happening and in the vibration of love vs. fear. Trust that you’re always being taken care of and that every situation presents an opportunity for you to grow. So what’s all the hype about new moons anyway? New Moons are a wonderful time to plant seeds for what you’d like to harvest. The new moon reaches its peak at 2:29am (PT/San Diego, CA) which is when the energies are their strongest. To take advantage of these energies, set aside time to create your intentions. Once you’ve put together your creation list, set aside some quiet time as close to the new moon peak as you can and visualize how you’d like your life to be. This helps ground your intentions into the earth, which is very powerful. Some people light candles or incense, some smudge, play music, meditate or lay down. Make this your own personal practice and what you’re most comfortable with. Once you’ve finished your new moon intention setting, let go and trust that everything will be taken care of. Enjoy the energies of this powerful new moon and watch your life transform in many positive ways in 2016. Much love, MK Healing
